as i know it

things have been so crazy lately. it seems like i have been playing tug o war with different parts of my life, and different people in my life. i know at this point, you would expect to read an explanation of my craziness, but the truth of it is, that it is , a bunch of serious private stuff that i don't want to share. don't worry, no one is dying, & in fact despite the struggles, our family is quite happy & closer than ever.

what i can talk about is how awesome my kids are. they love each other so much. the other night, at bed time josie noted out loud  that her bedroom was a mess. what did doug do? he ran in to help her clean it before they both put themselves to bed. - awesome ! then the following day, they were playing up stairs and josie ran to shout down the stairs, "mom! my brother has to go potty" so... i went up to help, but when i got there - i saw josie trying to help doug pull his pants down, and she said "don't worry little brother, big sister will help you" - awesome. even more awesome, yes, doug is potty trained.

i have to say that the kids make all the other bs worth it. i have grown over the past few months into my role as a stay at home mom. i truly like it. it has taken me 3 years to figure it out, not that i liked it, but how to be a confident mother that plays with her kids, cooks for her family, and keeps a decent house. i say decent, because i have learned that my kids having fun, and playing and learning, and experiencing life is much more important than a clean kitchen or bathroom.  my house is lived in. i have two wonderful fun energetic kids that , well, make a huge messy trail, but they are only 4 and 2 years old. i am cherishing these moment , when they still want to pile on me and cuddle, because before long, they will be hiding in their rooms and calling me names!

my crazy life as mentioned above, has been hard at times, but i feel that i have taken everything in stride. it has made me stronger, more confident, more capable, and more understanding.
